This application uses the basic calculations of the methods to control oil wells after the occurrence of kick during drilling operations on floating platforms and land rigs.

It is can be applied in the oilfield of petroleum and also help in understanding the methods of well control.

Description

The Directional Drilling Survey provides the control of directional drilling of oil wells with calculations and plotting of well planning and survey data in vertical and plan views to help technicians, drillers, tool pushers and engineers of petroleum industry.

Features: 
1. Well Planning Definitions: Slant, “S” or Horizontal Well types;
2. Ability to work with multiple data files;
3. Directional Survey: Edit, Add, Insert and Remove Survey Data;
4. Calculations Methods:
– Tangential
– Balanced Tangential
– Minimum Curvature
– Radius of Curvature
– Angle Averaging
5. Projections in vertical view and plan view;
6. Ability to PRINT and to send reports by email;
7. Survey Data Calculations in all methods simultaneously;
8. Formulas of Methods;
9. Ability to work with length units: foot and meter;
10. Vertical Section View in portrait
and Plan View in landscape.
11. Ability to Multilateral wells survey limited to 6 wells.
12. Ability to use Initial Vertical Section and Initial Azimuth to move the KOP to initial horizontal departure.

About the Leak-off Test on drilling operations:

A test to determine the strength or fracture pressure of the open formation, usually conducted immediately after drilling below a new casing shoe.

Features: 

1. Intuitive graphical interface;
2. Ability to work with data files;
3. Set ranges for graph;
4. Graph Options:
– Choke Pressure and Volume Pumped versus Pumping Time;
–  Choke Pressure and Pumping Time versus Volume Pumped;
5. Data edition (add, edit/save, insert, remove);
6. Click with mouse and drag it in the graph area to obtain Choke Pressure,
Equivalent Density, Equivalent Gradient, Volume Pumped and Pumping Time.

Drilling Cost per length unit drilled

The Drilling Cost provides to the drillers, toolpushers, drilling engineers, students and other professionals in the petroleum industry a productivity tool helpful in drilling operation to calculate the drilling cost per length unit drilled, analyze of drill bit performance and to use in planning phase of oil wells.

Drilling Cost = (B$ + RC$ (DT + TT)) ÷ LD

Cost = drilling cost per length unit
B$ = bit cost, $
RC = rig cost per hour, $ / h
DT = drilling time, h
TT = trip time, h
LD = length drilled (ft,m)

This application provides an advanced feature that is the modeling of data Drill Cost vs. Length Drilled using quadratic regression. The minimum point of the parable may correspond to the time of the drill bit, where will occur the minimum cost. The more the R squared is close to 1, the result will be better.
