New Apps for Well Control in Workover Operations

In development for iPod, iPhone and iPad

(early 2018 on the App Store)

Workover Simulator

This application provides well control simulations on production wells in workover operations with coiled tubing and slickline on landing rigs for training in Oil & Gas.

A surface production well (vertical or directional) is used to practice basic operations like moving the coiled tubing into the tubing string and circulating a lesser density fluid, with density smaller that the formation equivalent density, to put the well in flow (underbalance condition) to well control practices: hydraulics calculations, swabbing (on tripping out) and control methods including static volumetric (lubricate and bleed) and bullheading.

Slickline Simulator

This application provides well simulation on production wells in workover operations with slickline on landing rigs for training in Oil & Gas.

A surface production well (vertical or directional) is used to practice basic operations like moving the slickline into the tubing string with tools to install and to retrieve specific plugs.

These plugs are installed and retrieved in two trips using slickline.

Coiled Tubing Simulator

This application provides well control simulations on production wells in workover operations with coiled tubing on landing rigs for training in Oil & Gas.

A surface production well (vertical or directional) is used to practice basic operations like moving the coiled tubing into the tubing string and circulating a lesser density fluid, with density smaller that the formation equivalent density, to put the well in flow (underbalance condition) to well control practices: volumes and hydraulics calculations, swabbing (on tripping out), etc.

A free version for both iPhone and iPad!

This app is applied on oil wells (drilling operations) and it provides the Kick Tolerance as maximum kick volume concept.

This is a limited version using the drill string just drill pipe and drill collar to help in the understanding of this kick tolerance concept. It is an useful tool for students on the well control schools, drilling engineering universities, etc.

For more features like maximum pore pressure concept, graphical analysis, choke line effects on deepwater, directional and horizontal wells, drill string w/ 5 sections, temperature gradient effects, data files, etc, check the full version available for sale on the our portfolio.

This app was developed based in existent spreadsheets. There is no comparison with any other software.

Our goal was to create an application with the help of experts to share with drilling engineers, technicians, drillers, students and teachers of drilling engineering.

There is no intention to replace the professional softwares.

This application uses the basic calculations of the Volumetric Method to control oil wells after the occurrence of kick during drilling operations on landing rigs (Onshore).

It is an useful tool to import data files to fill kill sheets from our apps: (Drilling Hydraulics, Drilling Simulator 1 and 2, Kick Tolerance, LOT Simulator and Well Control Simulator 1 and 2) available for sale in our portfolio on the App Store.

It is can be applied on the field and also help in the understanding of the Volumetric Method of well control.

User Guide

This is a basic drilling simulator that simulates drilling operations based in panels for kick detection, shut-in the well, stabilization of pressures and the choke operations during the well control operations using a hydraulic choke panel simulator.

This is a new project based on apps “Drilling Simulator” and “Well Control Simulator” available in our portfolio on the App Store.

Additional features:
1. Driller Interface based on Pressure Gauge, Weight Indicator, Rotary Torque gauge and Geolograph.
2. Choke Interface based on Hydraulic Choke Panel.
3. Graph in full screen (with background color in black or white) for analysis.
4. Pre-recorded data form
5. Three codes (admin, instructor, student) to view the gas into the borehole, the pressure at bottom, at shoe and at bop and to enable / disable the Lag Time (by adjusting the choke to change the kill pressure and drill pipe pressure, etc).

A graphical very useful tool for training of roughnecks, derrickman, drillers, toolpusher, drilling engineers and students in the well control procedures.
