This app is a tool for application on deepwater drilling operations (Oil & Gas).
The slight increase in mud weight needed to offset the loss in hydrostatic pressure at bottom of the borehole when the riser is disconnected from the bop (emergency disconnection) and the hydrostatic pressure of the mud to the mud line into the drilling riser is replaced by the hydrostatic of the column of sea water.
Emergency disconnection can occur in blackout condition, failure of the dynamic positioning system, etc on drillship or semi-submersible platform.
